  1. Ethiopia Electric Power (EEP) hereinafter referred to as the “Buyer”, is interest to select potential National Private Developer or Developer consortium through National competitive bidding process and is open to all eligible bidders to finance, develop , own, operate  and Transfer (BOT) for the following hydroelectric power project.

1.1 Genale 5 Hydro Power Plant 146MW

1.2 Wabi-shebele Hydro Power Plant 89MW

1.3 Gojeb Hydro Power Plant 150MW

  1. EEP / Buyer will enter into a long-term Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with the successful Bidders for the entire capacity and electrical output of the Projects.
  2. The Projects under consideration are described in details in their respective reconnaissance or feasibility studies together with the Power Purchase Agreement and Implementation agreement made available for all bidders’ information to prepare their bid. Bidders shall gather additional site investigation information as required for design, supply, install, test ,commission, own and operate these hydroelectric power project.
  3. The Bidders’ are invited to submit their bid, which will be evaluated to select the bidder with least bid price / Tariff charges offer and who demonstrate to have experience and capacity to finance, develop and operate the hydropower projects, in accordance with Bid evaluation procedures and criteria specified in the bidding document, the Power Purchase Agreement, Connection Agreement and Implementation Agreements accompanying this Invitation to bid.
  4. All bids must accompanied by a Bid Security the amount specified in the bidding document .Bids must be delivered to the address below on or before 18 June 2018, 2.00 pm Local Time. Electronic bidding will not be permitted. Late bids will be rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of the bidders’ representatives who choose to attend in person at Head office on 18 June 2018, 2.30 pm Local Time.
  5. A complete set of Bidding Documents are available from April 20, 2018, against payment receipt of non-refundable fee of Ethiopian Birr 1000 (One Thousand birr) at the Ethiopian Electric power, procurement office. The method of payment shall be in cash or cashier’s chaque.

Procurement of Drilling Rigs and its accessories, Rig Operation and Maintenance for DrillingGeothermal Wells at Aluto

  1. This Invitation for Bids follows the General Procurement Notice for this Project that appeared in Development Business; issue no: WB3045-06/14 of June 10, 2014.
  1. The Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has received a credit from the International Development Association/IDA/ toward the cost of Geothermal Sector Development Project/GSDP/, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this credit to payments under the Contract for procurement of Drilling Rigs and its accessories, Rig Operation and Maintenance for Drilling Geothermal Wells at Aluto as stated on paragraph 3 below with tender no. ET-EEP-24662-CW-RFB

The Ethiopian Electric Power (EEP) now invites sealed bids from eligible and qualified bidders for procurement of Drilling Rigs and its accessories, Rig Operation and Maintenance for Drilling Geothermal Wells at Aluto as stated below:

Phase I:Supply of Two Geothermal Drilling Rigs with all its Accessories, Heavy Machineries, Trucks & Vehicles, Drilling Consumable Materials and Bases Camps in accordance with the specifications stated in the bidding document. In addition, the bidder is required to provide Directional Geothermal Drilling Equipment from its own ownership or rental bases from rental sources which will be required for directional drilling activities.

Phase II: Drilling Service for 8 wells after delivering and using all the procured or supplied items in Phase I, in accordance with the specifications and work scope stated in the Bidding document.The bidder is also required to provide directional drilling services on identified wells.In addition, the bidder is expected to give full maintenance services for the Drilling Rigs and all other related equipment and machineries during the drilling operation and full refurbishment of the rigs and all other related equipment at the end of the Contract and handover to the Purchaser/Employer the rigs and all other related equipment in fully operational condition.The Directional Equipment will remain the property of the Supplier/Contractor.

 

  1. Bidding will be conducted through the International Competitive Bidding (ICB) procedures specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, dated January 2011 and revised July 201 to all bidders from Eligible Source Countries as defined in the Guidelines.In addition, please refer to paragraphs 1.6 and 1.7 setting forth the World Bank’s policy on conflict of interest.

Ethiopia Electric Power (EEP) hereinafter referred to as the “Buyer”, is interest to select potential and experienced international Private Developer or Developer consortium through international competitive bidding process and is open to all eligible bidders to finance, develop , own and operate Built Operate and Transfer (BOT) bases for Birbir stage 1 and 2 cascade 564 MW hydroelectric power project.
  2. EEP / Buyer will enter into a long-term Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with the successful Bidders for the entire capacity and electrical output of the Projects.
  3. The Projects under consideration are described in details in their respective reconnaissance or feasibility studies together with the Power Purchase Agreement and Implementation agreement made available for all bidders’ information to prepare their bid. The bidders scope of works shall be gather additional site investigation information as required, design, construct, supply, install, test and commission, own and operate Birbir stage 1 and 2 cascade 564 MW hydroelectric power project.
  4. The Bidders’are invited to submit their bid, which will be evaluated to select the bidder with least bid price / Tariff charges offer and who demonstrate to have experience and capacity to finance, develop and operate the hydropower projects, in accordance with Bid evaluation procedures and criteria specified in the bidding document, the Power Purchase Agreement, Connection Agreement and Implementation Agreements accompanying this Invitation for bid.
  5. All bids must accompanied by a Bid Security equal to USD 6,500,000.00 (Six Million Five hundred thousand USD).
  6. Bids must be delivered to the address below on or before 11 May 2018; 2.00 pm Local Time. Electronic bidding will not be permitted. Late bids will be rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of the bidders’ representatives who choose to attend in person at Head office on 11 May 2018; 2.30 pm Local Time.
  7. A complete set of Bidding Documents shall be available from March 12, 2018 against payment receipt of non-refundable fee of Ethiopian Birr 5,000 (Five Thousand birr) from the Ethiopian Electric power, procurement office, at head office, by submitting request letter from the bidder. The method of payment shall be in cash or cashier’s chaque.
